MATHIAS CARLBAUM
PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mathias Carlbaum is President and Chief Executive Officer of Navistar, Inc. and member of the TRATON SE Executive Board. 

Most recently, Carlbaum led the post-merger management of Navistar on behalf of the TRATON GROUP. 

Carlbaum has extensive experience in sales and international markets. For the past five years, Carlbaum served as Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations of Scania CV AB based in Södertälje, Sweden. In this role, he was responsible for managing the support functions critical to sales and marketing efficiency.

Carlbaum has held various roles with Scania since he began as a marketing trainee in August 1997. In addition to his time served at Scania in Sweden, Carlbaum worked as Sales and Marketing Director for both Scania Hispania and Scania Latin America. From there, he became Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Scania Latin America, going on to work as Managing Director of Scania Iberica (Spain and Portugal) and Managing Director of Scania do Brasil.

Carlbaum has a Master of Business Administration from Umea University in Sweden.

    Donna Dorsey serves as Executive Vice President, Chief People & Culture Officer for Navistar, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for all aspects of human resource strategy. 

    Working with the organization’s senior leaders and Board of Directors, Dorsey provides strategic business and human capital leadership that has driven change and innovation during both the company’s successful turnaround and its current growth trajectory.  

    Prior to this role, Dorsey led strategic HR direction for all business operations while overseeing the company’s team of HR Business Partners. She worked closely with the business leaders to determine the best approaches to leadership and organization development, succession planning, talent development, staffing, total rewards and strategic HR issues. She previously held roles within Navistar with increasing levels of responsibility, including HR leadership within Navistar’s Integrated Product Development organization.

    Prior to joining Navistar, Dorsey was senior manager, human resources at Sears, Roebuck & Company (now Sears Holdings) where she was instrumental in leading the development of people strategies for corporate functions and serving as a leader for diversity initiatives across the enterprise. 

    Dorsey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Rutgers University and a Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent College of Law with a certification in labor and employment law. While in law school, she was president of Black Law Students Association. She holds a Paralegal certificate and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

    Michael Grahe is Executive Vice President, Operations of Navistar, Inc. He is responsible for product planning, program management, product development, procurement, quality, supply chain and logistics, and manufacturing across the company. He is also a member of the Executive Board of Navistar. 

    Prior to his current role, Grahe was Chief Technology Officer of the TRATON GROUP and was based in Sweden. At TRATON, he oversaw the technology and product planning, strategic procurement, as well as all alliance management activities. 

    Grahe has a vast history in the commercial vehicle industry, working at Mercedes-Benz Vans for Daimler in Germany and later as Executive Officer at Mitsubishi’s FUSO Truck & Bus Corporation in Japan. He then returned to Daimler as Director of Global Procurement Powertrain Trucks & Buses and thereafter Head of Global Controlling R&D & Procurement Daimler Trucks & Buses before joining the TRATON GROUP.

    Grahe holds a master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technical University Berlin.

    Do Young (DY) Kim is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Navistar, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for overall financial management of the company, including its controller, treasurer, corporate finance, risk management, business transformation, corporate development and mergers & acquisitions functions.

    Previously, Kim served as Vice President Corporate Development and M&A at Navistar where he managed all Navistar’s acquisition and divestiture activities. He also worked with executive and business unit leaders to identify new partnering opportunities that advance the company’s growth and technology strategies.

    Kim joined Navistar directly from TRATON SE where he served as the project lead for the company's IPO readiness and execution phases as well as the lead for the overall Navistar acquisition including due diligence, valuation, combined financials, capital structure and negotiation strategy. He also served as TRATON's head of Treasury for a brief period.

    Prior to TRATON, Kim worked as the CFO for several automotive joint ventures including Beijing Benz Automotive, Fujian Benz Automotive and Mercedes-Benz Korea.

    Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Yonsei University in South Korea.

    Stefan Palmgren is the Executive Vice President, Production and Logistics of Navistar, Inc. He is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of all manufacturing, supply chain and logistics activities.

    Most recently, Palmgren was Head of Industrial Operations Production at the TRATON Group. He continues to serve in this role with coordination of the Group Production Strategy and optimizing the global footprint.

    Palmgren has extensive experience in production, manufacturing, logistics and supply chain management. For the past 12 years, Palmgren served as Head of Powertrain Production at Scania based in Södertälje, Sweden. In this role, he was responsible for Powertrain Production and was integral in launching TRATON’s first modular product at Scania.

    Palmgren has held various roles with Scania since he began as a production trainee in 1983. In addition to his time served at Scania in Sweden, Palmgren worked as Chief Technology Officer Production, Research & Development and Purchasing at Scania São Paulo.

    Palmgren has a Master of Science in mechanical engineering and production systems from the Royal Institute of Technology KTH in Stockholm, Sweden and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, Thayer School of Engineering in Hanover, New Hampshire.

    Fabio Souza is executive vice president, service solutions of Navistar Inc. He is responsible for the Aftersales team, with specific focus on expanding Navistar’s digital strategy.

    Prior to his current role, Souza was the vice president and general manager of commercial operations at Scania in Brazil. At Scania he delivered innovative solutions to meet customer needs, as well as introducing vehicle connectivity and pioneering the flexible maintenance program for Scania in the Brazilian market.

    Souza has held many roles at Scania since he started as a parts analyst in 2001. In addition to Scania Brazil, he also worked as the services manager at Scania Mexico and the managing director of Scania’s Commercial Operations in South Africa. Souza’s vast history in the commercial trucking industry is supported by his involvement in South Africa as a member of the board of Scania Financial Solutions and the vice president of heavy vehicles of NAAMSA, a local association of motor vehicle manufacturers.

    Souza holds an industrial engineering degree from The University Center of Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FEI) in Brazil. In addition, he attained a postgrad degree in business administration and marketing from the Higher School of Advertising and Marketing in Brazil (ESPM). Souza also holds a specialization in administration and management from Stockholm School of Economics.

    Eleanor P. Cabreré serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Navistar, Inc. In this role, she has also served as executive sponsor for the Office of the General Counsel's Diversity Committee for the past decade. Earlier, she was Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Litigation Counsel.

    Before joining Navistar in 2001, Cabreré was in private practice for eight years with several boutique litigation law firms in Chicago. She earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Northwestern University and her juris doctorate from Indiana University's Maurer School of Law, Order of the Barristers.

    Tobias Glitterstam serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer for Navistar, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for corporate strategy, communications, government relations, and mobility solutions.

    As a member of Navistar's executive leadership team, Glitterstam is the steward for strategy implementation. He accelerates sustainability efforts and focuses on capturing market opportunities in the future transport ecosystem.

    Prior to this role, Glitterstam served as VP and Head of the Americas Region of Business Sweden and the Swedish Trade Commissioner to the U.S. He consulted enterprises on new markets and segments, strategic innovation, market partnerships and M&A. In addition, he steered government affairs, inward investment programs and business promotion efforts, in areas such as Smart Cities, Industry 4.0, future transportation, and sustainability. He has a track record of leading complex transformation programs and improvement efforts in several disciplines, including go-to-market, product management, sales, supply chain and aftersales.

    Glitterstam spent 16 years at the global consulting firm Accenture. During this time, he served in many roles including as Managing Director, Management Consulting with a focus on the communications and technology industry. He has served globally leading teams in Europe, Asia, and North America.

    He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Lund School of Economics and Management, Lund University, Sweden.

    Christian Levin was born in 1967. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Administration and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 1994, Christian Levin started his career as a management trainee with Scania CV AB. He held a number of management positions at Scania, including Director of Product Marketing as well as Managing Director of Italscania. In 2010, Christian Levin was named Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Operations of Scania CV AB. From 2016 to 2019, Christian Levin was Executive Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing at Scania CV AB. He has been a member of the Executive Board of TRATON SE since 2019. Until April 2021, he was responsible for Research & Development as well as for Procurement (Chief Operating Officer). He is Chief Executive Officer of Scania CV AB since May 2021 and Chief Executive Officer of TRATON SE since October 2021.

    Dr. Michael Jackstein was born in Kassel, Germany, in 1977. After earning his degree in business administration, he has worked as a research assistant and head of tutoring programs at the University of Göttingen. Once he had earned his doctorate at the Institute for Production and Investment Research in Business Administration (corporate planning department) in Göttingen at the end of 2008, he joined the controlling department of Volkswagen AG, where he also took on a management position later on. In mid-2012, he became assistant to the Board of Management for Group Finance and Controlling at Volkswagen. Beginning in October 2015, Dr. Jackstein was the head of the office of the chairperson of the Volkswagen AG Supervisory Board. Since April 2023, he has been a member of the Executive Board of TRATON SE, responsible for Finance and Business Development as well as Human Resources.

    Dr. Klaus Schartel graduated from Justus Liebeg University Giessen in 1988. He served as Director and Associate General Counsel Legal Procurement Supply at Daimler AG from October 2006 until March 2013. He served as Associate General Counsel – Director Legal M&A and Cooperations at Daimler AG from April 2013 until December 2017. He served as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) for TRATON SE from January 2018 until December 2018. He has served as General Counsel and Head of Legal for TRATON SE since September of 2018.

    Walter G. Borst served as Navistar Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Navistar, Inc. from June 2013 to December 2021. Prior to joining Navistar, Inc., Mr. Borst served as Chairman, President and CEO of General Motors Asset Management and Vice President of GM since 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Borst served as Vice President and Treasurer of GM from 2009 to 2010 and as Treasurer of GM from 2003 to 2009.

    Jeffrey Dokho is currently the Director of the UAW Research Department, where he directs a group of financial analysts and oversees the union’s financial, industry and future mobility research. Since joining the UAW in 2006, Dokho has worked on many high-profile contract negotiations between the UAW and large multinational companies and plays a leading role in the development and implementation of profit-sharing plans, including those currently in place for UAW members at General Motors Company, Ford Motor Company and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. In October 2020, Jeffrey Dokho was appointed to the Michigan Council on Future Mobility and Electrification and, in March 2020, he was appointed to the U.S. Asset Owner’s Advisory Council of the Council of Institutional Investors. From 2002 to 2006, Dokho was a Senior Analyst at Lear Corporation, a tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry, focusing largely on mergers & acquisitions and joint ventures. From 2000 to 2002, Dokho was at Ernst & Young, a global public accounting firm, providing both audit and business risk consulting to clients in a wide range of industries, including defense and manufacturing. Prior to that, he conducted regulatory compliance audits at the National Futures Association, the self-regulatory organization for the U.S. derivatives industry. Dokho received a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
